Ore­gon wins twice to stay alive

OK­LA­HOMA CITY — Me­gan Kleist pitched a five­hit­ter Satur­day night, strik­ing out nine, and Gwen Svekis hit a two-run homer, pow­er­ing the Ducks to a 4-1 vic­tory over Louisiana State in an elim­i­na­tion game that kept them alive in the Women’s Col­lege World Se­ries.

Ear­lier Satur­day, Kleist es­caped a bases-loaded jam in re­lief, and the Ducks held on to beat Bay­lor 7-4 in an elim­i­na­tion game.

Ore­gon (53-7) will face Ok­la­homa to­day. If the Soon­ers win, they will ad­vance to the cham­pi­onship se­ries. If Ore­gon wins, the teams would play again with the win­ner ad­vanc­ing.

Wash­ing­ton and Florida will face off for the other spot in the cham­pi­onship se­ries.
