The NHL’s new­est team, the Vegas Golden Knights, will have its ros­ter filled to­day in an ex­pan­sion draft, in which each of the 30 es­tab­lished teams will lose one player to the new­comer. THE POOL: Each NHL team sub­mit­ted a list of pro­tected play­ers to the league Sun­day morn­ing, ei­ther seven for­wards, three de­fense­men and one goalie, or eight skaters of any po­si­tion and a goalie.

THE SE­LEC­TION: The Golden Knights have un­til 7 a.m. PDT to­day to sub­mit their draft se­lec­tions. They are re­quired to select a min­i­mum of 14 for­wards, nine de­fense­men and three goalies from the list of un­pro­tected play­ers, ad­ding up to a min­i­mum of $43.8 mil­lion in salary cap charges, or 60% of the 2016-17 sea­son salary cap of $73 mil­lion. At least 20 of the play­ers se­lected must al­ready be un­der con­tract for the 2017-18 sea­son.

THE RE­VEAL: The Golden Knights’ se­lec­tions will be an­nounced dur­ing the NHL Awards show tonight at 5 p.m. from the T-Mo­bile Arena in Las Vegas (TV: NBCSN).
