In­di­ans lose Miller, Tom­lin

The Cleve­land In­di­ans took two hits Wed­nes­day: Left-handed re­liever An­drew Miller was put on the dis­abled list and right-handed starter Josh Tom­lin is out six weeks.

Miller, who is 4-3 with two saves and a 1.67 ERA in 46 ap­pear­ances, has right knee ten­dini­tis. He walked 10 bat­ters in the last 21 in­nings.

Tom­lin’s sea­son could be in jeop­ardy af­ter an MRI exam con­firmed a left ham­string strain. He is 7-9 with a 5.38 ERA in 20 starts. Etc. Wash­ing­ton right-han­der Max Scherzer (neck spasms) is ex­pected to make his next start as sched­uled. He left Tues­day’s game at Mi­ami af­ter pitch­ing one in­ning and hit­ting his first ca­reer homer. ... New York Yan­kees rookie out­fielder Aaron Judge is hit­ting .149 (10 for 67) with four homers, nine RBIs and 29 strike­outs since the All-Star break . ...
