Hernandez out up to a month

Right-han­der Felix Hernandez will be lost to the Seattle Mariners from three to four weeks be­cause of shoul­der bur­si­tis, gen­eral man­ager Jerry Dipoto said Tues­day.

Hernandez was scratched from his sched­uled start Satur­day at Kansas City and put on the dis­abled list be­cause of dis­com­fort in his pitch­ing arm.

The vet­eran is 5-4 with a 4.28 ERA in 13 starts. He sat out nearly two months this sea­son be­cause of shoul­der in­flam­ma­tion.

Seattle also an­nounced that it put re­liever David Phelps on the DL be­cause of an im­pinge­ment in his right el­bow.
