Bruce is traded to the In­di­ans

Vet­eran out­fielder Jay Bruce was ac­quired Wed­nes­day by the Cleve­land In­di­ans from the New York Mets in ex­change for mi­nor league pitcher Ry­der Ryan.

Bruce is hit­ting .256 with 29 homers and 75 RBIs.

He has a $13-mil­lion salary this year and can be­come a free agent af­ter the World Se­ries.

The In­di­ans will pay the $3,765,027 re­main­ing of Bruce’s salary.


Out­fielder Michael Brant­ley was put on the dis­abled list by the In­di­ans af­ter in­jur­ing his right an­kle while go­ing af­ter a fly ball Tues­day night against Colorado . ...
