▶GIL’S ASH WEDNESDAY FISH FRY: The MantecaRipon Pentecost Society is staging Gil’s Fish Fry Dinner on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the MRPS Hall, 133 N. Grant St. You can dine in or drive thru. The cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. The dinner is being prepared by Fagundes Meats. Limited tickets will be available at the door.

▶RIPON LIVESTOCK BOOSTER CLUB MEETING: The Ripon Livestock Booster Club will be having their first meeting of the year on Thursday, Feb. 15, at 6:30 p.m., at Round Table Pizza in Ripon. Topics to be discussed will be the San Joaquin County Ag Fest 2018, Scholarships, Premium Awards and Incentives given to Ripon Ag Fest exhibitors, Annual Appreciation Dinner, and “Top Five for Drive”. Parents in the Ripon Community that have children exhibiting at Ag Fest are encouraged to attend and provide input. ▶APPRECIATION LUNCHEON FOR SISTER ANN: The Young Ladies Institute will host an appreciation lunch for Sister Ann Britto on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 1230 p.m. in the St, Anthony’s gym. ▶MANTECA GARDEN CLUB: The monthly meeting of the Manteca Garden Club is Monday, Feb. 19, at the Manteca Public Library 320 W. Center St. Refreshments are at 12:30 p.m. with the speaker at 1 p.m. The speaker is Tom Powell who serves as the Special Project Coordinator, Manteca Garden Club. Powell will give updates on school gardens and city beautification projects planned for this year. He will provide an updates on this year’s financial status and the planned programs that are supported. If you are interested in more information about the Garden Clubs activities you are invited to join them at the Feb. 19 meeting.

▶RIPON SENIOR CENTER STAR GAZING: Star Gazing our Galaxy is being presented by Ripon Senior Center on Thursday, Feb 22 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. It includes free telescope viewing and a science presentation by Fred Yerzy. Bring a lawn chair and join others at the parking lot at 433 S Wilma. All ages are welcome although children must be accompanied by an adult. Your evening will be more enjoyable if you also bring warm clothing, hat, gloves, flashlight, lap blanket, snacks and binocular. The event is weather permitting. Call 24 hours prior.
