Sierra dom­i­nates LHS frosh

Sierra put up 34 first-half points and coasted to a 48-20 non-league win over Lathrop at Daniel Te­icheira Me­mo­rial Sta­dium on Thurs­day.

Marcelo Mo­rales (10 car­ries, 164 yards) scored five touch­downs for the Tim­ber­wolves on runs of 5, 21, 25, 48 and 48 yards. Jeon­tay Berry (five car­ries, 80 yards) added touch­down runs of 28 and 35 yards and Nikko Nunez picked up 54 yards on six car­ries.

Ben Wheeler led Sierra with seven tack­les and Ryan Tor­res added six stops.

Luis Her­nan­dez (8 for 23 pass­ing, 190 yards) hit Andres Cis­neros-Pena (two catches, 49 yards) with a 15-yard touch­down pass in the first quar­ter for the Spar­tans to tie the score at 6-6. Her­nan­dez spot­ted Ja­son Seabron (six re­cep­tions, 153 yards) for a 9-yard scor­ing pass in the third pe­riod and Amario Val­dovi­nos (17 car­ries, 104 yards) capped the night’s scor­ing with an 6-yard run in the fourth quar­ter.

Lathrop’s sec­ond score was set up with a fum­ble re­cov­ery by Ralf Corla (three tack­les). Val­dovi­nos (three tack­les) forced a fum­ble with Luis Heran­dez and Christo­pher Su­bia both re­cov­er­ing a fum­ble. Noah Martinez and Seabron each made four tack­les.

Man­teca 32, Tracy 6

Khalid Robin­son and Joel Yuson com­bined for three touch­down and more than 260 yards rushing for the Buf­faloes who scored a touch­down in ev­ery quar­ter at Guss Sch­miedt Field.

Yuson (five car­ries, 140 yd; 2 for 4 pass­ing, 50 yards) had touch­down runs of 2 and 60 yards. Robin­son (11 car­ries, 122 yards) scored from 2 yards out and Cory Franklin (seven car­ries, 64 yards) added an 18-yard scor­ing scam­per.

Yuson made seven tack­les with Jose Rios, Cory Franklin and Omar Villanueva each chip­ping in with five tack­les.
