SWORDS DOWN UNDER

Marlin - - EDITOR'S LETTER - Chris Miller Via email

I just got my June/July 2017 copy of Marlin and was pleased to note Andrew Cox’s Editor’s Letter, “The Best 24 Hours Ever?” regarding the swordfish fishery off New Zealand’s North Cape. I wrote an article in the December/January 1998 issue of Marlin — back when David Ritchie was editor — titled “The Fabulous Far North,” about the swordfishing potential there. I caught the first swordfish by a Houhora Big Game & Sports Fishing Club member and wrote of the fantastic potential for this game fish there. I have since moved back to the United States, and it is great to learn that this potential is being tapped — it makes me want to go back and have another go! Thanks for keeping Marlin such a great magazine.
