TO DO: A TRIAL RUN

Martha Stewart Weddings - - THE PLANNER -

Part of the magic of the big day is seeing your whole ensemble come together for the first time. For this reason, and out of fear of accidental spills or tears, many brides avoid trying on everything ahead of time. But, Rivers says, doing a trial run two weeks out can head off mishaps: Don everything— down to your Spanx, strapless bra, shoes, and veil—ideally with a friend who will also be with you on your wedding day. Practice sitting, walking, lifting your hands over your head, and going up and down stairs. “That way, if something pinches, slips, or digs, you have time to resolve it, either at home or with your seamstress,” she says.
