Man ar­rested af­ter al­leged as­sault, car chase

Trav­eled up to 120 MPH dur­ing 15-mile pur­suit

A White Plains man was ar­rested last Wed­nes­day and is be­ing held with­out bond af­ter al­legedly break- ing into a home in Wal­dorf, at­tack­ing a woman with a screw­driver, and lead­ing of­fi­cers on a 15-mile, high­speed chase that caused two cit­i­zens to crash dur­ing the pur­suit, ac­cord­ing to court records.

Af­ter col­lid­ing with a tree, Trayvon Don­fin Richard­son, 29, re­port­edly locked the doors to the car, forc­ing of­fi­cers to break a win­dow in or­der to ap­pre­hend him.

On the evening of March 23, deputies of the Charles County Sher­iff’s Of­fice were dis­patched to the 2600 block of Oak­ley Drive for a re­ported as­sault in progress.

“Upon my ar­rival I was met by a fe­male run­ning to­wards me who had an ex­ces­sive amount of blood com­ing from her face,” Of­fi­cer M. Nau­man wrote in his re­port.

See­ing her in­juries, Nau­man called for EMS sup­port and gath­ered in­for­ma­tion about the in­ci­dent to re­lay to other of­fi­cers.
