Po­tomac River health is at an all-time high

Con­ser­vancy gives ‘B-’ grade

The Po­tomac Con­ser­vancy re­leased its “State of the Na­tion’s River” re­port on Wed­nes­day and, ac­cord­ing to their stan­dards, the Po­tomac River is health­ier than it has ever been.

In the re­port, the river’s health grade was up­graded to a B- from a C in 2013 and a D in 2011.

Hedrick Belin, the pres­i­dent of the Po­tomac Con­ser­vancy, said the progress made on the river is “tremen­dous” and the goal of mak­ing it a swimmable, fish­able river by 2025 can be at­tained.
