Runners thrive at St. Charles Running Festival
On Saturday morning, Jay Hall was in familiar territory as he could taste the finish line yet again in the men’s 5K race at the seventh annual St. Charles Running Festival outside of Regency Furniture Stadium, home of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, in Waldorf.
The sophomore distance runner from Westlake High School chalked up his third overall win in four years, crossing the finish line in a time of 16 minutes 45 seconds.
The 16-year-old Hall won was the back-to back 5K champion, taking the 2014 and 2014 races, at the festival gathering which featured a challenging course.
