Run­ners thrive at St. Charles Run­ning Fes­ti­val

On Satur­day morn­ing, Jay Hall was in fa­mil­iar ter­ri­tory as he could taste the fin­ish line yet again in the men’s 5K race at the sev­enth an­nual St. Charles Run­ning Fes­ti­val out­side of Re­gency Fur­ni­ture Sta­dium, home of the South­ern Mary­land Blue Crabs, in Wal­dorf.

The sopho­more dis­tance run­ner from West­lake High School chalked up his third over­all win in four years, cross­ing the fin­ish line in a time of 16 min­utes 45 sec­onds.

The 16-year-old Hall won was the back-to back 5K cham­pion, tak­ing the 2014 and 2014 races, at the fes­ti­val gath­er­ing which fea­tured a chal­leng­ing course.

Al­fonza Wil­lis of Te­mec­ula, Calif., crosses the fin­ish line in first place in Satur­day’s men’s 10-miler at the St. Charles Run­ning Fes­ti­val at Re­gency Fur­ni­ture Sta­dium in Wal­dorf with a time of 1 hour 4 min­utes 47 sec­onds.
