The fol­low­ing item is a re­port from the Charles County Sher­iff’s Of­fice.

Po­lice in­ves­ti­gat­ing two armed rob­beries in Wal­dorf

On April 19 at 11:49 p.m., of­fi­cers re­sponded to the McDon­ald’s Restau­rant, lo­cated in the 3300 block of Leonard­town Road in Wal­dorf, for the re­port of an armed rob­bery. In­ves­ti­ga­tion re­vealed a man en­tered the restau­rant, dis­played a hand­gun, and de­manded money. The cashier com­plied, and the sus­pect fled.

A short time later, an­other rob­bery was re­ported at the Wawa in the 11500 block of Berry Road. In that case, a man en­tered the store, dis­played a hand­gun, and de­manded money. He fled to­ward Route 228. Of­fi­cers re­sponded, searched the area, and re­cov­ered ev­i­dence. In­ves­ti­ga­tors be­lieve the same sus­pect is re­spon­si­ble for both rob­beries.

The sus­pect is de­scribed as a black male in his late teens to mid-20s, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and wear­ing dark cloth­ing and a cloth gar­ment that cov­ered a por­tion of his face.

Shirley Ann St. Arnold, 80, of Brandy­wine, MD, passed on to her eter­nal life on April 16, 2016 at her res­i­dence.

Born and raised in Wheel­ing, WV, she started her work­ing life with the De­part­ment of the In­te­rior (U.S. Govern­ment). She was a mem­ber of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Wal­dorf and en­joyed her time as a mother and home­maker.

She was the daugh­ter of Fred­er­ick L. Adams and Marie J. Mil­horn and was also pre­de­ceased by her hus­band of 58 years, Robert P. St. Arnold; her daugh­ter, Cheri; and grand­daugh­ter, Sa­man­tha Joanne.

She is sur­vived by her sons, Robert (Michelle), Thomas, and Brian (Vic­to­ria) and her sis­ters, Bar­bara and Donna. Also sur­vived by sev­eral grand and great grand chil­dren.

Friends re­ceived on Tues­day, April 26, from 10 a.m. un­til time of Mass of Chris­tian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Wal­dorf, MD. In­ter­ment to fol­low at 1 p.m. at MD Vet­er­ans Ceme­tery in Cheltenham, MD. Ar­range­ments by Ray­mond Fu­neral Ser­vice, La Plata.
