SMCA base­ball downs The Heights again

Rosier pro­pels Mus­tangs to stay atop Old Line con­fer­ence

The South­ern Mary­land Chris­tian Academy base­ball team has The Heights School’s num­ber this sea­son.

Tues­day, South­ern Mary­land de­feated the Cava­liers from Mont­gomery County for the sec­ond time this sea­son, 7-3 in an Old Line Con­fer­ence matchup.

The Mus­tangs (15-4, 6-1 Old Line), which de­feated The Heights 9-4 on March 10, are cur­rently in first place in the con­fer­ence with just one loss. On Satur­day they lost their first con­fer­ence game of the sea­son in a dou­ble­header split in Gaithers­burg, knock­ing off Avalon School 4-2 in the first game and drop­ping the sec­ond, 6-2.

“We have so many young play­ers and they are play­ing very good base­ball again a lot of kids that are older,” South­ern Mary­land head coach Greg Cor­rick said. “Not only are we com­pet­ing,
