Retired K-9 officer added to dog walking service
Local pet sitting and dog walking service 4 Pets’ Sake Pet Sitting Services is recently announced the hiring of Frank Yates as its newest dog walker.
Yates brings 28 years of K-9 experience working with K-9 bomb detection dogs for the U.S. Capitol Police.
He and his K-9 partner for the last 9 years, Daiko, a Belgian malinois, retired in February.
4 Pets’ Sake has been providing dog walking and pet sitting services in Southern Maryland since 2003 and serves Charles, St. Mary’s and southern Prince George’s counties. For more information, email terri@ fourpetssake.com.
Realtors help Charles County Christmas in April
The Young Professionals Network Committee of the Southern Maryland Association of Realtors donated a portion of proceeds from its last event to Christmas in April in Charles County on April 13.
Alvin Stewart, president of Christmas in April, was present to accept the $1,000 check in Hughes- ville. Along with the monetary contribution, the committee, along with other SMAR realtors and affiliates will be volunteering on April 30 to help those in need with needed house repairs.

Waldorf bank opens Virginia branch
Community Bank of the Chesapeake opened a new branch in downtown Fredericksburg, Va., recently, according to a bank press release. The full-service branch is located at 425 William Street

As a kickoff for the Mother’s Day promotion, the restaurant will host a card making event for children at its family night 5 p.m. to 7 p.m Thursday, May 5. Children age 12 and under can eat a free kids meal that night with the purchase of an adult combo meal.
