Come celebrate Worsley’s dedication
The Charles County Library Board of Trustees regrets to inform the community that we have received the resignation letter of Mr. Sam Worsley. Sam has served on the board for the past seven years. During his tenure he served as both president and vice president of the library board in which he made a number of enhancements to the library system. Mr. Worsley began his library service as a volunteer with the Friends of Charles County Public Library and in that role sparked his interest to serve Charles County in a greater capacity.
Sam lost his beloved wife, Nancy, this past August and feels that his declining health has led him to have to resign from the board.
In his resignation letter to Charles County Commissioner’s President Peter Murphy and to the library board, Mr. Worsley stated that, “I wish each of the board members much success in their respective endeavors to assure the Charles County Public Library System achieves its goals and objectives in reaching its fullest potential with the support the county commissioners have demonstrated. It has been my pleasure to have assisted in that effort for the past seven years, three months, and seven days. I shall miss all of my library colleagues.”
Sam will be deeply missed by the board and the community at large. Please join us at our May 5 meeting to thank him for his service to the community.
