Pedes­trian struck by ve­hi­cle

On April 29 at 9:17 p.m., of­fi­cers re­sponded to the area of Small­wood Drive West — just north of St. Pa­trick’s Drive — for a pedes­trian who had been struck by a ve­hi­cle.

In­ves­ti­ga­tion showed the pedes­trian, a 25-year-old male wear­ing dark cloth­ing, was cross­ing Small­wood Drive West when he was hit.

The driver of the ve­hi­cle, 35, re­mained on the scene. The pedes­trian was trans­ported to a hos­pi­tal with in­juries that do not ap­pear to be life-threat­en­ing. Sgt. J. Bur­roughs of the Traf­fic Op­er­a­tions Unit is in­ves­ti­gat­ing.

Man at­tacked, robbed in La Plata

On April 26 at 10:45 p.m., of­fi­cers re- sponded to the area of Starkey Court and Wes­ley Drive in La Plata for the re­port of an as­sault.

Upon ar­rival, of­fi­cers found a man ly­ing on the ground with sev­eral wounds. The vic­tim was trans­ported to a hos­pi­tal where he was ad­mit­ted with se­ri­ous in­juries. In­ves­ti­ga­tion showed the vic­tim got lost and turned into a se­nior cen­ter. He saw a man stand­ing in the park­ing lot and asked for di­rec­tions. The man sud­denly opened the vic­tim’s car door and pulled the man out.

Two other sus­pects ap­proached and struck the man with an ob­ject. They stole the vic­tim’s wal­let and cell phone and then fled.

Man ar­rested, drugs seized in search war­rant

On April 29, mem­bers of the Nar­cotics En­force­ment Sec­tion ex­e­cuted a search war­rant in the 2700 block of Adel­phi Lane in Bryans Road in re­sponse to mul­ti­ple com­plaints of pos­si­ble drug deal­ing at the house. Of­fi­cers lo­cated a semi-au­to­matic hand­gun that had been re­ported stolen through South Carolina. They also dis­cov­ered 85 grams of mar­i­juana, a dig­i­tal scale, and other ev­i­dence. Cameron James Tay­lor, 23, of Bryans Road was ar­rested and charged with pos­ses­sion of a stolen firearm and pos­ses­sion of il­le­gal drugs with the in­tent to dis­trib­ute. The Nar­cotics En­force­ment Sec­tion is con­tin­u­ing its in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
