Wal­dorf wo­man killed in two ve­hi­cle crash

A Wal­dorf wo­man was killed last night in a two-ve­hi­cle ac­ci­dent on U.S. 301 near McKen­dree Road, ac­cord­ing to au­thor­i­ties.

Am­ber D. Reese, 32, suf­fered se­vere in­juries af­ter her mo­tor­cy­cle col­lided with a pickup truck and was later pro­nounced dead at a nearby hos­pi­tal. The other driver was not re­ported to be in­jured.

Around 11:09 p.m., Mary­land State Police troop­ers were dis­patched to the scene for the re­port of a mo­tor ve­hi­cle ac­ci­dent. Pre­lim­i­nary in­ves­ti­ga­tion re­vealed that Reese had been trav­el­ing south on U.S. 301 when she col­lided into a pickup truck that was dis­abled in the road­way, MSP re­ported. Due to the sever­ity of the crash, the MSP crash team re­sponded to be­gin their in­ves­ti­ga­tion, par­tially shut­ting down the high­way for ap­prox­i­mately three hours. The in­ves­ti­ga­tion is on­go­ing. This is the ninth traf­fic fa­tal­ity of the year in Charles County.
