Job networking fair set for June 27 in Waldorf
The “Nine Innings of Networking” hiring event is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. Monday, June 27, at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf. The job networking fair connected a wide variety of employers with more than 1,800 job seekers last year alone, according to a press release.
The event is hosted by the Southern Maryland Workforce Development Investment Board of the Tri-County Council, the Job Match Re-Employment Project, The American Job Centers/ JobSource and the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulations.
“The ‘Nine Innings of Networking’ was conceived five years ago based on the realization that Southern Maryland is as rich in talented job seekers as the Chesapeake is in marine life,” Eleanor Nelson, director of The Job Match Re-Employment Project, said in the release. “The Job Match Re-Employment Project creates an opportunity for participating employers to meet Southern Maryland’s highly qualified and robust workforce.”
“We combine jobs, jobs, jobs with the great American past time,” she added. “By choosing the Regency Furniture Stadium as the venue, the setting presents the perfect opportunity for networking at a Business2Business reception at the end of the day when the interviewing is over, followed by a Blue Crabs baseball game.” The Business2Business reception will be held in the Legends Room from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Currently, more than 60 businesses have registered for the event. To become an employer or sponsor, contact Eleanor Nelson at 240-419-3367 or email email@example.com. Registration for job seekers is at www.jobmatchproject.com.
