Want to keep children safe? Take them out of public schools

Maryland Independent - - Community Forum -

I read with shocked disbelief the Maryland Independent article of June 8 “Parents express concerns over CCPS transgender policy.”

If a male thinks he is a female, the appropriate place for him is the madhouse, not the female bathroom/ locker room/shower room. Sorry, Patricia Viara (director of student services), but the “general safety and comfort of the general student population” is nowhere as important as recovering sanity. If there is anything to be said in support of the CCPS policy as described in the article, it does not readily come to mind.

As to parents’ concerns, here’s just one idea: withdraw your kids from public school on Monday. Give the schools the summer to stand up to the federal government overreach. That action brings zero risk to you and your family, yet if done on a massive scale, could do some real good. Sure, it may be a big financial sacrifice to send a child to a private school. But are not our daughters, granddaughters and/or sisters worth the sacrifice?
