Blue Crabs should stay

Maryland Independent - - Community Forum - Larry Taylor, Waldorf

You recently reported that there are ongoing discussions to replace the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs baseball with a low single A minor league team. I would hate this decision if it came to pass. The Blue Crabs are one of the few amenities in Charles County other than shopping and chain restaurants that I truly enjoy. Most of the Blue Crabs players have AA, AAA and Major League baseball experience. The caliber of professional baseball that we get to enjoy locally in Waldorf is very high. I used to go see the Baysox in Bowie who are a AA minor league team, and the Blue Crabs are a much better version of baseball.

The management at Regency Furniture Stadium has been diligent in constantly trying to enhance the game night experience for the fans. I hope the citizens get a chance to weigh in on the decision to send the Blue Crabs packing before it is too late.
