Car cruise successful thanks to sponsors
On June 14, Cruisin’ Southern Maryland for Veterans presented a check for $20,000 to Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. The dedication and commitment of the Cruisin’ Car Club members is demonstrated by a planning process which starts about a year before the actual event Memorial Day weekend. The cruise takes you through a leisurely drive of the tri-county area, over a 100mile cruise, with over 160 classic cars, trucks and motorcycles participating this year. The last stop, and culmination of the yearlong planning, is a spectacular car show at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. Dozens of veterans gather around their favorite cars, reminisce and listen to music.
On behalf of the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs and Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, I would like to acknowledge, and wish I could recognize, all 10 car club sponsors, 37 major sponsors and 27 associate sponsors, but the list is too long and that is a good issue to have. The community support for this cruise and car show in support of Charlotte Hall Veterans Home is overwhelming. Thank you sponsors, you know who you are, I sincerely appreciate all of your efforts, whether by registering and participating in the cruise and car show, donating your time, money or an in-kind donation. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed. This amazing group of volunteer car enthusiasts came together more than five years ago and turned their passion into an event that benefits veterans residing at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home.
Again, thank you Cruisin’ Southern Maryland for Veterans for an unprecedented donation and as an outstanding organization in support of veterans who served this great nation.
