King, Price recognized as Who’s Who honorees
Samiya King of Bryans Road and Tyler Price of La Plata were inducted April 15 into the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges, a national honors program. King and Price are students at Stevenson University.
To be inducted to this program, students must be a junior or senior, possess an outstanding grade point average, be an active member on campus, and serve in the community. Each student was nominated by a faculty or staff member of Stevenson.
Coleman to compete in national rugby championship tournament
and Bria Butler of White Plains received Duke of Edinburgh awards April 21 at a ceremony at McDaniel College. The Duke of Edinburgh awards are given to those students who completed a self-development program dedicated to achievement in community service, physical fitness, special skills and adventurous journey. The program was founded in 1956 by Britain’s Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Kitts, a senior, earned a gold award. Butler, a senior, earned a gold award.
Colaciello receives scholarship, inducted into honor society
scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior accounting major who is nominated by a professional member of the IMA. The Mid Atlantic Council selects the recipients based on their academic and leadership experience.
The IMA Accounting Honor Society recognizes and honors academic achievement, provides an alumni network, and advances the accounting profession. Juniors or seniors majoring in accounting, finance, or information technology with a grade point average of 3.0 may become members.
Olsen recognized at ROTC President’s Review at McDaniel College
Madrigal Singers during “An Evening of Madrigals” in Baker Chapel at McDaniel College in Westminster. Steinsberger is a junior at McDaniel.
The Madrigal Singers are the premier vocal ensemble at McDaniel College. The group performs a cappella in addition to Renaissance pieces, contemporary jazz vocal music and other selections. The concert, which celebrated springtime, included a wide variety of world music and vocal jazz.
