Charles County Public Library staff Megan Burroughs and Suzanne Lee attended the annual Charles County Head Start end of the year family event at Regency Furniture Stadium May 26. The event, called Read to Me, was sponsored by Charles County Public Library, Chick-Fil-A, Forever Free Books, Target and the Al Sullivan family. Each of the 113 Head Start children received a new book and a Chick-Fil-A cow. The program was created to encourage children to read with their parents and to their cow during the summer. In addition to Read to Me, the Charles County Public Library Outreach Department goes to each Head Start class once per month to provide a story time to the students.
