Maryland Independent - - Business -

Community Bank of the Chesapeake, headquartered in Waldorf, supports local nonprofits who provide healthcare and wellness services in the Southern Maryland region through its annual Casual for a Cause program.

The initiative allows employees to dress casual for the summer months by making a donation. The funds raised go to selected local organizations that serve Community Bank of the Chesapeake’s communities in Annapolis, Southern Maryland and Fredericksburg, Va.

“We donated to local healthcare providers this year as a small thank you for all the hard work and dedication they put into improving the health of our community,” William Pasenelli, president and CEO of the bank, said in a press release. “Providing healthcare is an important part of building a strong and healthy community and it is an honor to be able to contribute to these organizations. This is Community Bank’s twelfth year of Casual for a Cause and I am pleased to share that throughout the years over $60,000 has been donated to our communities through employee contributions.”

Community Bank employees participate by making a donation, which entitles them to dress “business casual” from May 1 through Labor Day. This year, contributions to Casual for a Cause totaled $6,000.
