Maryland Independent - - Community Forum -

Job seekers often fill out several employment applications in search of a desired career opportunity. Paper applications can be misplaced, take up extra space in your briefcase and take longer to fill out. Charles County Government now has a quicker, more user-friendly option to search for employment. A new application system, NeoGov, allows job seekers to find information online and apply for jobs.

Available Charles County Government job openings are online at www.CharlesCounployment-page. This page lists all open jobs, both full-time and part-time. Each listing contains detailed job information, including required education and experience. Human resources recruiters review all applications for relevant education, experience, skills and knowledge.

When you are ready to apply, click on the job of your choice, then click the green “Apply” button, and create an account. Once your account is created, complete the application, and upload a resume and other supporting documents.

You can use your NeoGov account to apply for multiple Charles County Government jobs without having to complete a new application each time. Other counties use the same system, which enables you to use one account to apply for jobs in multiple jurisdictions without having to retype an application. Creating an account saves valuable time, and helps focus the job search on relevant positions.

Job seekers can also take advantage of alerts for relevant openings. Click on the “Sign Up To Be Notified” link, and complete a Job Interest Card. Then, select your desired job categories. When human resources posts a job ad in your selected category, you will notified by email.

Human resources recruiters use NeoGov to communicate with candidates and send regular updates on the status of open jobs. This communication takes the guesswork out of the job search for candidates.

If you do not have computer access or need assistance applying, a computer kiosk is available in the Charles County Government Building (200 Baltimore St., La Plata), outside the Department of Human Resources. Job seekers may also use a computer at any Charles County Public Library branch.

Open doors of opportunity today by visiting our website at www. CharlesCoun, and applying for a new career. The Department of Human Resources is here to help you begin your career with Charles County Government.

**Charles County Government abides by the Equal Opportunity Employer Statement, “It is the policy of Charles County Government to recruit and select the most qualified persons for positions in the County’s service. Recruitment will be conducted in an affirmative manner to ensure open competition for all positions, provide Equal Employment Opportunity, and to prohibit discrimination because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religious or political affiliation or opinion, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, genetic information, gender identity, or any other non-merit factor. The Department of Human Resources will periodically review recruitment processes to ensure equal application to candidates and assure screening criteria is applicable to the job.” Paul Rensted is the director of the Charles County Department of Human Resources.
