Make sure to cast your ballot
The Charles County NAACP encourages everyone to be a part of this important election. The outcome of Election 2016 will affect everyone’s job, health care, energy costs and security. This election will help decide what kind of country we and our children will live in. It will also impact our community for years to come.
The NAACP wants all citizens to vote. Whether you vote by absentee ballot or vote in person, be sure to make your voice heard in this election. If you can take advantage of early or absentee voting, you should. If you go to vote on Nov. 8, as long as you are in line before the poll closes, you are entitled to cast a ballot. The future of our great democracy rests in your hands: get out and cast your vote.
The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 14. Visit the Maryland Board of Elections’ website for locations and times. Early voting dates are Oct. 27 through Nov. 3 at the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department located at 911 Washington Ave., La Plata, and the Gleneagles Neighborhood Center, located at 4900 Kirkcaldy Court, Waldorf, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at both locations.
The general election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at your designated voting location.
The Charles County NAACP invites you to join us in making our communities fair, safe and strong by voting this year. It is the most important thing you can do to shape the future of your democracy. #YOURVOTEMATTERS
