Pub­lic in­vited to vot­ers event

The Al­pha Phi Al­pha Fra­ter­nity Inc., Sigma Al­pha Lambda Chap­ter, is host­ing “A Vote­less Peo­ple Is A Hope­less Peo­ple” event from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Satur­day, Oct. 29, at Charles County Li­brary, Po­tomac Branch, 3225 Ruth B. Swann Drive, In­dian Head.

The event will in­clude a panel of dis­tin­guished com­mu­nity lead­ers, in­clud­ing: Gil­bert Bowl­ing, chair­man of the Charles County Demo­cratic Cen­tral Com­mit­tee and owner at Bowl­ing’s New­port Val­ley Farm; Bill Dot­son, mem­ber of the Charles County Repub­li­can Cen­tral Com­mit­tee and pres­i­dent of Mod­ern Door; and Kame­sha Clark, can­di­date for the U.S. House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives for Mary­land’s 4th Con­gres­sional Dis­trict.

Al­pha Phi Al­pha Fra­ter­nity Inc. in­vited the Charles County Demo­cratic Cen­tral Com­mit­tee and the Charles County Repub­li­can Cen­tral Com­mit­tee to at­tend this event. Rep­re­sen­ta­tives from both com­mit­tees are ex­pected to be on hand to provide at­ten­dees an op­por­tu­nity to be­come ac­tive vot­ers in their com­mu­nity.

Dur­ing this unique op­por­tu­nity, at­ten­dees will hear an im­por­tant theme dis­cussed: Make Your Vote Count: Why you should vote for this year’s Demo­cratic, Repub­li­can or third party ticket. This pro­gram will also in­clude ques­tions ad­dressed to the pan­elists from pro­gram mod­er­a­tor Reuben Collins II, for­mer mem­ber of the Charles County Board of County Com­mis­sion­ers, Mary­land Dis­trict 3, and found­ing man­ag­ing prin­ci­pal of R. B. Collins.

This event is free and open to the pub­lic, and all are wel­come to at­tend.
