Public invited to voters event
The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Sigma Alpha Lambda Chapter, is hosting “A Voteless People Is A Hopeless People” event from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Charles County Library, Potomac Branch, 3225 Ruth B. Swann Drive, Indian Head.
The event will include a panel of distinguished community leaders, including: Gilbert Bowling, chairman of the Charles County Democratic Central Committee and owner at Bowling’s Newport Valley Farm; Bill Dotson, member of the Charles County Republican Central Committee and president of Modern Door; and Kamesha Clark, candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives for Maryland’s 4th Congressional District.
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. invited the Charles County Democratic Central Committee and the Charles County Republican Central Committee to attend this event. Representatives from both committees are expected to be on hand to provide attendees an opportunity to become active voters in their community.
During this unique opportunity, attendees will hear an important theme discussed: Make Your Vote Count: Why you should vote for this year’s Democratic, Republican or third party ticket. This program will also include questions addressed to the panelists from program moderator Reuben Collins II, former member of the Charles County Board of County Commissioners, Maryland District 3, and founding managing principal of R. B. Collins.
This event is free and open to the public, and all are welcome to attend.
