Housekeeper accused of thefts from clients, police seeking other victims
Police are continuing to investigate a housekeeper suspected of multiple thefts in the Southern Maryland area, and investigators are seeking additional information from anyone who believes they may have been a victim.
The housekeeper, Victoria DeMarr, 52, of Kentucky is accused of stealing jewelry from her clients and pawning the stolen items, according to a news release from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office. Police received reports of thefts last year and earlier this year before DeMarr fled to another state, though she was apprehended and extradited back to Maryland in October.
Since her arrest, police have gathered additional information about other thefts DeMarr may have been involved with.
Anyone who believes they may have been a victim of these thefts is asked to call Officer J. Wilson at 240-587-7970.
