Woman dies after Aquasco crash
Police investigating why car left roadway, striking tree
After she was severely injured in a single-vehi- cle accident last week in Aquasco, police announced Monday that a Hughesville woman has died in the hospital.
Authorities have identified the victim as Diane Tatum, 54, who had been a passenger in the car when it left the road and struck a tree. The driver was also taken to the hos- pital with serious injuries, but is now in stable condition, according to police.
Around 3:10 p.m. on Nov. 24, officers of the Prince George’s County Police Department responded to the intersection of Aquasco Road and Croom Road for a reported crash involving a single vehicle, according to a news release. Upon arrival, police found Tatum unresponsive inside the car,
and she was transported to a hospital in critical condition. She died Satur- day from her injuries.
A preliminary investigation shows the car was heading southbound on Aquasco Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree, police report. The agency’s collision analysis and reconstruction unit is continuing to investigate the accident and what caused the vehicle to leave the road.
