Wal­dorf bank cel­e­brates ‘12 Days of Giv­ing’

Com­mu­nity Bank of the Ch­e­sa­peake is us­ing so­cial me­dia to raise aware­ness of 12 or­ga­ni­za­tions that do great things for the com­mu­ni­ties they serve.

The Wal­dorf bank, which has 12 bank­ing cen­ters around the re­gion, will fea­ture one per day over a 12-day pe­riod, Dec. 5-16, on its Face­book page. Ev­ery time a user “Likes” the post, the bank will do­nate $1 (up to 100 likes) to the par­tic­u­lar or­ga­niza- tion be­ing fea­tured. In ad­di­tion, the bank is do­nat­ing a base amount of $250 to each group, for a to­tal amount of up to $350 given to each cause.

“We spon­sored this chal­lenge be­cause we feel strongly about sup­port­ing lo­cal in­sti­tu­tions that have a pas­sion for ser­vice and com­mu­nity. We are hop­ing to in­spire oth­ers to get in­volved, lend a hand, back a spe­cial cause and do their part to drive this com­mu­nity to its fullest po­ten­tial,” said Diane Hicks, as­sis­tant vice pres­i­dent and at the bank.

The 12 or­ga­ni­za­tions cho­sen for Com­mu­nity Bank of the Ch­e­sa­peake’s 12 Days of Giv­ing are: Farm­ing 4 Hunger, Health Part­ners, Friends of Calvert Li­brary, Calvert An­i­mal Wel­fare League, Three Oaks Home­less Shel­ter, Cen­ter for Life En­rich­ment, The Arc of South­ern Mary­land, Com­mu­nity Foun­da­tion of South­ern Mary­land, Anne Arun­del Coun- ty Lit­er­acy Coun­cil, An­napo­lis Green and Rap­pa­han­nock YMCA Inc.
