Waldorf bank celebrates ‘12 Days of Giving’
Community Bank of the Chesapeake is using social media to raise awareness of 12 organizations that do great things for the communities they serve.
The Waldorf bank, which has 12 banking centers around the region, will feature one per day over a 12-day period, Dec. 5-16, on its Facebook page. Every time a user “Likes” the post, the bank will donate $1 (up to 100 likes) to the particular organiza- tion being featured. In addition, the bank is donating a base amount of $250 to each group, for a total amount of up to $350 given to each cause.
“We sponsored this challenge because we feel strongly about supporting local institutions that have a passion for service and community. We are hoping to inspire others to get involved, lend a hand, back a special cause and do their part to drive this community to its fullest potential,” said Diane Hicks, assistant vice president and at the bank.
The 12 organizations chosen for Community Bank of the Chesapeake’s 12 Days of Giving are: Farming 4 Hunger, Health Partners, Friends of Calvert Library, Calvert Animal Welfare League, Three Oaks Homeless Shelter, Center for Life Enrichment, The Arc of Southern Maryland, Community Foundation of Southern Maryland, Anne Arundel Coun- ty Literacy Council, Annapolis Green and Rappahannock YMCA Inc.
