Man may have suffered medical issue before crash
Police say a man driv- ing in Waldorf was killed after crashing into an unoccupied parked car on Tuesday afternoon.
Vardon Julius Washing- ton, 58, of Waldorf was pronounced dead at the scene, and investigators are trying to determine if he may have had a medical issue before he lost control of his vehicle, according to a news release from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 3:52 p.m. on Tuesday, Washington,
who was driving a Toyota FJ Cruiser heading south on Copley Avenue, lost control of the car for unknown reasons, the release states. The vehicle crossed into the oncoming lanes and struck a mailbox before crossing back into the southbound lanes and striking a parked car. The collision sent the parked car across two lanes of traffic and came to a stop in the front yard of a house nearby.
