Satur­day, Feb. 11

The Veter­ans Demo­cratic Club of Charles County and Vicin­ity will meet 10 a.m. at 3385 Met­ro­pol­i­tan Church Road, In­dian Head. The club’s speaker will be Charles County Com­mis­sion­ers’ Pres­i­dent Peter Mur­phy. Mur­phy plans to speak on county goals for 2017 and will an­swer ques­tions from the au­di­ence. Mon­day, Feb. 13

The 4th and 5th District Demo­cratic Club will meet 6 p.m. Mon­day, Feb. 13 at Ledo’s at The Ri­vah Restau­rant on Cobb Is­land. The speaker will be Com­mis­sion­ers’ Pres­i­dent Peter Mur­phy. Tues­day, Feb. 14

The Charles County Board of Ap­peals meet­ing orig­i­nally sched­uled for Tues­day, Feb. 14 is can­celled. The next reg­u­lar meet­ing of the Board of Ap­peals is sched­uled for Tues­day, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. at the Charles County Govern­ment Build­ing, 200 Bal­ti­more St., La Plata.

Wed­nes­day, Feb. 15

The Charles County Com­mis­sion­ers will hold the Fe­bru­ary town hall meet­ing for District 1 at 6 p.m. at the County Govern­ment Build­ing, 200 Bal­ti­more St., La Plata. Ques­tions con­cern­ing the Wa­ter­shed Con­ser­va­tion District will not be ad­dressed be­cause it is un­der re­view with the Plan­ning Com­mis­sion. Tues­day, March 7

The Na­tional Oceanic and At­mo­spheric Ad­min­is­tra­tion (NOAA) has re­leased the draft plan to des­ig­nate Mal­lows Bay in Nan­je­moy as a Na­tional Marine Sanc­tu­ary. A pub­lic meet­ing dis­cussing the draft plan will be held 6-9 p.m. at the Charles County Govern­ment Build­ing, 200 Bal­ti­more St., La Plata. Mal­lows Bay’s des­ig­na­tion as a Na­tional Marine Sanc­tu­ary will be the first for the state of Mary­land and the Ch­e­sa­peake Bay wa­ter­shed. The se­cond pub­lic meet­ing will be held 6-9 p.m. Thurs­day, March 9, at Anne Arun­del Com­mu­nity Col­lege (101 Col­lege Park­way, Arnold).
