Barn­hart Crane and Rig­ging look to move heavy ma­te­ri­als through county

Move would be in Bene­dict, where a prior heavy haul was pre­vented

More and more heavy sup­plies are needed for the power plant be­ing built in Brandy­wine, and that means more heavy haul com­pa­nies have to get in- volved in the process.

What that means for Charles County cit­i­zens is they may see more heavy ma­chin­ery com­ing through their neigh­bor­hoods. In this lat­est in­stance, Barn­hart Crane and Rig­ging is look­ing to move ma­te­ri­als for the plant through Bene­dict Ma­rina.

Pre­vi­ously, op­po­si­tion from the com­mu­nity and lack of ap­provals from county of­fi­cials caused Lock­wood Bros. Inc., an­other com­pany in­volved in hauling ma­te­ri­als for the power plant into Prince Ge­orge’s County, to shift their move to Aqua­land Ma­rina.
