SBDC helps busi­nesses ‘Start Right for Suc­cess’

The Small Busi­ness Devel­op­ment Cen­ter at the Col­lege of South­ern Mary­land of­fers a num­ber of classes and work­shops to en­trepreneurs, busi­ness own­ers and would-be own­ers.

One such class is the one­day “Start Right for Suc­cess” course. For those look­ing to start a busi­ness, the class will pro­vide a sum­mar y of the busi­ness in­for­ma­tion needed to get go­ing right now. Eval­u­ate the busi­ness con­cept and de­ter­mine the mar­ket po­ten­tial of prod­ucts and ser­vices, and gain an un­der­stand­ing of po­ten­tial cus­tomers. The class will give guid­ance on iden­ti­fy­ing the best type of busi­ness or­ga­ni­za­tion, de­ter­min­ing record keep­ing needs and how to cre­ate a fi­nan­cial plan. Stu­dents will also learn to use the SBDC’s con­fi­den­tial one-on-one coun­sel­ing to best ad­van­tage.

The class costs $13 for tu­ition and $42 for fees. It will be held 10 a.m. to noon, Wed­nes­day, March 15, at the Prince Fred­er­ick Cam­pus and 5 to 7 p.m. Tues­day, March 28, at the La Plata Cam­pus.
