Colonial Dames name new officers
The installation of new officers in the Lady Jane Sewall Chapter of the Colonial Dames 17th Century took place Feb. 25 at Rivers Edge Restaurant in Benedict. The installation was followed by a brief meeting and luncheon. The following officers for 2017-2019 are:
President, Mrs. Gary R. Whitsell; Vice President, Mrs. Michael Ouellette; Chaplain and Recording Secretary, Mrs. John Candland; Corresponding Secretary, Miss Lisa G. Payne; Treasurer, Mrs. James H. Berry; Registrar, Mrs. Julian D. Gilman; Historian, Mrs. Jose A. Cruz; Librarian, Miss Carolyn S. Billups.
Billups did the installation of new officers.
This chapter was founded in 1983 and chartered October 8, 1984. Some of the goals of our group are to foster interest in historical colonial research; to aid in the education of the youth of our country; to aid in the preservation of the records and of the historic sites of our country; and to commemorate the noble and heroic deeds of the country’s founders.
