Colo­nial Dames name new of­fi­cers

The in­stal­la­tion of new of­fi­cers in the Lady Jane Se­wall Chap­ter of the Colo­nial Dames 17th Cen­tury took place Feb. 25 at Rivers Edge Restau­rant in Bene­dict. The in­stal­la­tion was fol­lowed by a brief meet­ing and lun­cheon. The fol­low­ing of­fi­cers for 2017-2019 are:

Pres­i­dent, Mrs. Gary R. Whit­sell; Vice Pres­i­dent, Mrs. Michael Ouel­lette; Chap­lain and Record­ing Sec­re­tary, Mrs. John Cand­land; Cor­re­spond­ing Sec­re­tary, Miss Lisa G. Payne; Treasurer, Mrs. James H. Berry; Reg­is­trar, Mrs. Julian D. Gil­man; His­to­rian, Mrs. Jose A. Cruz; Li­brar­ian, Miss Carolyn S. Billups.

Billups did the in­stal­la­tion of new of­fi­cers.

This chap­ter was founded in 1983 and char­tered Oc­to­ber 8, 1984. Some of the goals of our group are to foster in­ter­est in his­tor­i­cal colo­nial re­search; to aid in the ed­u­ca­tion of the youth of our coun­try; to aid in the preser­va­tion of the records and of the his­toric sites of our coun­try; and to com­mem­o­rate the noble and heroic deeds of the coun­try’s founders.
