Clarks cel­e­brate 50 years

James A. Clark and An­nie Ce­celia Smoth­ers-Clark will cel­e­brate their 50th wedding an­niver­sary Fri­day, April 1. The Wal­dorf cou­ple was mar­ried April 1, 1967 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Is­sue. The pair met in first grade at Way­side El­e­men­tary (presently Dr. Thomas L. Hig­don El­e­men­tary and Pic­cow­axen Mid­dle School) and grad­u­ated from Bel Al­ton High School in 1964.

They are the proud par­ents of three chil­dren; Jamie C. Nel­son (Darryl), Ster­ling A. “Tony,” and Fel­isha M. Clark-Bonilla (David); seven grand­chil­dren and two great-grand­chil­dren.

James re­tired from the Charles County Board of Ed­u­ca­tion af­ter 40 years and Ce­celia re­tired from the Naval Sur­face War­fare Cen­ter, In­dian Head af­ter 35 years. Both are mem­bers of Our Lady Help of Chris­tians Catholic Church in Wal­dorf.
