Six Charles County churches held their first “Cross Walk” on Good Friday, an event symbolizing Jesus Christ’s journey to the Crucifixion in Christian tradition.

First United Baptist Church of St. Charles, Peace Lutheran Church, Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Calvary United Methodist Church, Calvary Korean Presbyterian Church and Zion Wesley United Methodist Church took part in the event.

Attendees walked from First United Baptist Church down Smallwood Drive carrying a large wooden cross.

Pastor Laurie Gates-Wood of Good Shepherd United Methodist said the event was intended to “be a visible sign to this community to remind what this day means.”
