A Town of La Plata Town Coun­cil and May­oral Can­di­date Fo­rum spon­sored by the Repub­li­can Women of Charles County will be 7-9 p.m. at the La Plata Hol­i­day Inn Ex­press, 6860 Crain High­way. All 10 can­di­dates are in­vited. The fo­rum is non-partisan and be­ing held as part of the RWCC’s civic com­mit­ment. Light re­fresh­ments served, free ad­mit­tance. All town res­i­dents are wel­come.

Thurs­day, April 20

U.S. Sen­a­tor Chris Van Hollen (D) will meet with Charles County of­fi­cials to dis­cuss fed­eral in­vest­ment pri­or­i­ties for the County and Mary­land at 11 a.m. at the Charles County Gov­ern­ment Build­ing, 200 Bal­ti­more St., La Plata. As a mem­ber of the Se­nate Bud­get and Ap­pro­pri­a­tions Com­mit­tee, Van Hollen is fight­ing for im­por­tant in­vest­ments for Mary­land to grow our econ­omy, boost crit­i­cal in­fras­truc­ture, and strengthen the many fed­eral fa­cil­i­ties and mil­i­tary in­stal­la­tions in the state.
