Nei­ther starter fac­tored into the de­ci­sion as Blue Crabs starter Gaby Her­nan­dez went five in­nings, giv­ing up four runs on eight hits with six strike­outs.

Tues­day, a two-run homer by Trayvon Robin­son in the ninth off of Blue Crabs pitcher Cody Ep­p­ley broke a 1-1 tie and pro­pelled Lan­caster to the win.

The Blue Crabs, who led 1-0 af­ter six in­nings, scat­ted just six hits and left five run­ners on base.

South­ern Mary­land had the bases loaded with one out in the bot­tom of the sev­enth, but Lozada hit into a 3-2-3 dou­ble play to end the in­ning.

Vaughn sin­gled with two outs in the bot­tom of the ninth to bring Ro­driguez to the plate rep­re­sent­ing the ty­ing run, but he grounded out to end the game.

Vaughn led the way for the Blue Crabs with three hits, while Ro­driguez had two.

Scott Shu­man got the win for Lan­caster af­ter pitch­ing a score­less eighth with two strike­outs. Ep­p­ley got the loss for South­ern Mary­land.

Blue Crabs starter Brian Gren­ing did not fac­tor in the de­ci­sion and main­tained a three­hit shutout into the sev­enth. In seven in­nings, Gren­ing gave up just one run on six hits with five strike­outs.
