Wil­bur Owen Budd, 79, of Mar­bury, MD, went home to be with the Lord on June 12, 2017 at Hospice of Charles County. He was born July 20, 1937 in Fort Foot, MD. Son of the late Daisey and Roy Budd Sr. In ad­di­tion to his par­ents, he was pre­ceded in death by his brothers: Robert, Ken­neth, James, Luther and Benny. He is sur­vived by his wife of 54 years, Judy; his son, Rod­ney mar­ried to Susan (Slaney) of Vir­ginia Beach, VA; daugh­ters: Cynthia Win­ters mar­ried to William Win­ters of LaPlata, MD; Alison Budd of LaPlata, MD; grand­chil­dren: Derek, Shana, Brooke, Corey and C.J.; brothers: Roy (wife Lois); Lester (wife Mary); sis­ter, Shirley Rus­sell (hus­band Allen); and many nieces and neph­ews in the South­ern Mary­land area.

Wil served in the United States Air Force from Au­gust 1960 to Au­gust 1964. After leav­ing the Air Force, Wil was em­ployed by Bran­iff In­ter­na­tional Air­lines for most of his ca­reer and in 1978 he re­ceived the high­est air­line honor when he was se­lected as “Em­ployee of the Year”. He later worked for Pied­mont, and USAir Air­lines. He fur­thered his ca­reer by work­ing for the De­par tment of the Navy as a Po­lice Of­fi­cer and work­ing for the Charles County Gov­ern­ment as a Cross­ing Guard.

Wil en­joyed plant­ing trees and flow­ers and work­ing in the yard. Wil also en­joyed play­ing cards with friends and trav­el­ing. He set­tled into re­tire­ment spend­ing time with fam­ily, friends, and grand­chil­dren.

A view­ing will be held Tues­day, June 20 at the Wil­liams Fu­neral Home, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. where fu­neral ser­vices will be held on Wed­nes­day, June 21 at 11 a.m. In­ter­ment will be at Mary­land Veter­ans Ceme­tery, Chel­tenham, MD.
