Thanks to SMECO for cat rescue

Maryland Independent - - Community Forum -

June 22 was the third day that my aunt’s cat was stuck in a tree about 60 to 80 feet in the air.

We had been calling around to local tree companies, the fire department, the police department, animal control and rescue since Monday evening when the cat got stuck in the tree. With no avail to our efforts, I tried a last resort and called Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO).

SMECO came out with first a bucket truck. Knowing this truck would not be tall enough to reach the cat, Ninja, they called their co-workers. Five trucks, two hours in the scorching heat and several crew members later, Ninja was rescued.

I would like to recognize SMECO for their valiant efforts. Thank you and I appreciate your time.
