Ce­celia M. (Buck­ler) Ben­ton, a long-time res­i­dent of the For­est Heights area, passed away peace­fully Fri­day the 7th of July 2017 at Bal­lenger Creek Cen­ter in Fred­er­ick, MD.

Ce­celia was born on April 10, 1921 to Thomas Harry Buck­ler Sr. and Ber­tie Mae Copsey in Orav­ille, MD.

Ce­celia loved be­ing a free sprint, vis­it­ing with fam­ily/ friends and spoil­ing her many nieces and neph­ews. She also en­joyed be­ing a land­lord, trav­el­ing, play­ing games of chance, danc­ing and read­ing. She prized her home on Sachem Drive with its gor­geous Cherry tree and tulips.

Rel­a­tives and friends are in­vited to Ce­celia’s Cel­e­bra­tion of Life on Thurs­day, July 13, from 11 a.m. un­til time of ser­vice at 12 Noon at the GE­ORGE P. KALAS FU­NERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, MD. In­ter­ment Mount Olivet Ceme­tery.

She was the sis­ter of Gwynn and Dorothy Buck­ler, El­iz­a­beth and Joe No­vak, Lawrence and Is­abelle Buck­ler, Louise and John Bohle, Thomas Harry and Ester Buck­ler, Elmer and Chloe Buck­ler and John Ed­ward and Mada­line Buck­ler; all of whom pre­ceded her in death. She was also pre­ceded in death by her com­pan­ion Pre­ston “Peach” Ben­ton. She is sur­vived by her brother, Frank Buck­ler and his wife Doris; and many lov­ing nieces and neph­ews.
