Pinkston re­ceives aca­demic award from Nor­folk State Univ.

Six Nor­folk State Univer­sity stu­dent-ath­letes were hon­ored by the Vir­ginia Sports In­for­ma­tion Direc­tors re­cently when they were named to the VaSID Aca­demic All-State Team for the 2016-17 aca­demic year.

Among them was Nor­folk State base­ball player Ter­rence Pinkston, a McDonough High School grad­u­ate from La Plata.

Pinkston was a red­shirt ju­nior dur­ing the 2016-17 aca­demic year with a 3.81 GPA in so­ci­ol­ogy.

To be el­i­gi­ble, a stu­dent-ath­lete must have at least a 3.25 GPA and be a sopho­more or higher in stand­ing. Schools were limited to nom­i­nat­ing six stu­dent-ath­letes. Nor­folk State Univer­sity
