Rehm pi­lots Univer­sity of Mary­land team to first place fin­ish

a sopho­more at Univer­sity of Mary­land, pi­loted his team to a first place fin­ish at the Amer­i­can He­li­copter So­ci­ety In­ter­na­tional Mi­cro Air Ve­hi­cle Stu­dent Chal­lenge on May 8 in Ft. Worth, Texas. The UMD team of four fin­ished with the fastest time and was the only team to suc­cess­fully com­plete the chal­lenge on their first at­tempt.

Rehm is a graduate of La Plata High School. He is the son of Brian and Vicki Rehm of La Plata .

Lopez earns aca­demic hon­ors at Car­leton College

of Wal­dorf, a se­nior at Car­leton College, was elected to the Sigma Xi honor so­ci­ety and re­ceived the Jef­fer­son Nat­u­ral Sciences Teach­ing Award at a re­cent Hon­ors Con­vo­ca­tion.

Elec­tion to the Car­leton Chap­ter of Sigma Xi, a na­tional honor so­ci­ety, in­di­cates that a stu­dent has demon­strated ev­i­dence of re­search po­ten­tial in a field of pure or ap­plied science. The Jef­fer­son Nat­u­ral Sciences Teach­ing Award is given an­nu­ally to cur­rent stu­dents who have demon­strated an in­ter­est in and ca­pac­ity for teach­ing chil­dren or adults in the nat­u­ral sciences.

Tow­ers named to MAC honor roll

of Hugh­esville, is one of more than 150 Le­banon Val­ley College stu­dent-ath­letes named to the Mid­dle At­lantic Con­fer­ence’s (MAC) Win­ter/ Spring Aca­demic Honor Roll. Tow­ers, a gradute of Saint Marys Ryken High School, is a mem­ber of the base­ball team, and is pur­su­ing a bach­e­lor of science in ac­count­ing at The Val­ley.

Tay­lor rec­og­nized for hon­ors at Em­po­ria State

of Wal­dorf was named to the honor roll and The Teach­ers College dean’s list at Em­po­ria State Univer­sity for the spring 2017 se­mes­ter. To qual­ify for the univer­sity honor roll, stu­dents earned a min­i­mum 3.80 se­mes­ter grade point av­er­age in at least 12 graded hours.
