Mrs. Phyl­lis Sue Irvine-Guil­ford, 85, of Spring Hill, Florida, for­merly of War­rlinda Vil­lage La Plata, MD, passed away Satur­day, Au­gust 5, 2017 at Sturgill Hospice Care Cen­ter in Brooksville, FL.

Fu­neral ser­vices will be held 2 p.m. Satur­day, Au­gust 12 at Mount­lawn Me­mo­rial Park Mau­soleum Chapel in North Wilkes­boro, NC, with Rev. Joel Blevins of­fi­ci­at­ing. En­tomb­ment will be in Mount­lawn Me­mo­rial Park Mau­soleum. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends from 1 p.m. un­til 2 p.m. prior to the ser­vice at Mount­lawn Me­mo­rial Park Mau­soleum Chapel.

Mrs. Guil­ford was born April 29, 1932 in Wilkes County to Charles and Estelle Wood. She was known for open­ing her home to teenagers whom all loved her and called her “Granny”. She was a for­mer em­ployee of Harry W. Nice Me­mo­rial Bridge and was a mem­ber of the Moose Club and Shriner’s Club. She also en­joyed ce­ram­ics, cro­chet­ing and play­ing bridge.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, she was pre­ceded in death by her first hus­band Dan Irvine; sec­ond hus­band John Guil­ford; sons: Danny Irvine; Randy Irvine; nephew: Mark Wooten; and brother, Bobby Wood.

She is sur­vived by her daugh­ter, Su­san Hardy and hus­band Robert of Spring Hill, FL; one sis­ter, Sheilah Con­way and hus­band Joel of Mo­ra­vian Falls, NC; one brother, Gerald Wood and wife Deena of Wilkes­boro, NC; and four neph­ews: Kevin Wood and West­ley Wood, both of North Wilkes­boro, NC; Jim Wood and Jerry Wood, both of Phoenix, AZ.
