The South­ern Mary­land Bull­dogs are look­ing for travel base­ball play­ers from 7-U to 19-U.

Try­outs will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 25 and 7:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Dog Pound, 50 Jib­sail Drive, Prince Fred­er­ick, and from 9:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 16 and from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 14 at Hal­low­ing Point Park in Prince Fred­er­ick.

Bas­ket­ball

Team Fire Elite Youth Bas­ket­ball has part­nered with Navy Child and Youth Pro­grams to launch the Mil­i­tary Reg­is­tra­tion Dis­count Pro­gram for the up­com­ing sea­son in sup­port of mil­i­tar y fam­i­lies.

The pro­gram is for chil­dren 5 to 18 of ac­tive duty mil­i­tary, De­part­ment of De­fense civil­ians and con­trac­tors, re­servists on ac­tive duty or in­ac­tive duty while train­ing, and chil­dren of mil­i­tary re­tirees.

Team regis­tra­tions are cur­rently be­ing ac­cepted for the Cen­tral Mary­land Soc­cer As­so­ci­a­tion’s 21st An­nual Colum­bus Soc­cer Clas­sic

sched­uled on the week­end of Oct. 7 and 8 in West­min­ster.

The Clas­sic is a sanc­tioned US Soc­cer youth event open to all af­fil­i­ated youth teams in the Mid-At­lantic area. Male and fe­male com­pe­ti­tion is of­fered for the sin­gle age lev­els of U-8 through U-15 and the dual age brack­ets of U-15/16 and U-17/18.

The event of­fers a round-robin com­pe­ti­tion for­mat, with all teams guar­an­teed a min­i­mum of three games. The first and sec­ond place teams in each age bracket re­ceive team and in­di­vid­ual awards.
