Base­ball and soft­ball

The South­ern Mary­land Bull­dogs are look­ing for travel base­ball play­ers from 7-U to 19-U and tryouts will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 14 at Hal­low­ing Point Park in Prince Fred­er­ick.

St. Mary’s Col­lege of Mary­land will hold its 2017 fall base­ball prospect camp on Oct. 21.

The cost is $125, with each par­tic­i­pant re­ceiv­ing de­fen­sive po­si­tion in­struc­tion, a pro-style work­out, a cam­pus tour and a meet­ing with the ad­mis­sions staff. It also in­cludes lunch as well as the op­por­tu­nity to take bat­ting prac­tice and scrim­mage at the Hawk’s Nest, the base­ball team’s home field.

Bas­ket­ball

South­ern Mary­land H.E.A.T Ath­letic Pro­gram is now ac­cept­ing ap­pli­ca­tions for stu­dent-ath­letes in grades 3 to 12 who seek the op­por­tu­nity for lo­cal and na­tional ex­po­sure.

Team Fire Elite Youth Bas­ket­ball has part­nered with Navy Child and Youth Pro­grams to launch the Mil­i­tary Reg­is­tra­tion Dis­count Pro­gram for the up­com­ing sea­son in sup­port of mil­i­tary fam­i­lies.

The pro­gram is for chil­dren 5 to 18 of ac­tive duty mil­i­tary, Depart­ment of De­fense civil­ians and con­trac­tors, re­servists on ac­tive duty or in­ac­tive duty while train­ing, and chil­dren of mil­i­tary re­tirees.

Lacrosse

St. Mary’s Col­lege of Mary­land will hold its 2017 fall women’s lacrosse prospect clinic on Oct. 22.

Join cur­rent St. Mary’s play­ers and third-year St. Mary’s head women’s lacrosse coach Erin Mc­Don­nell for an af­ter­noon of stick work, skill drills and game play. Reg­is­tra­tion also in­cludes a cam­pus tour and stu­dent-ath­lete Q&A.

Track and field

Charles County Elite Track & Field Club will start their 2017-18 in­door track and field sea­son for chil­dren 5 to 19 the week of Nov. 13.

Vol­ley­ball

South­ern Mary­land Vol­ley­ball Club will hold tryouts for the up­com­ing 201718 USA Vol­ley­ball Ch­e­sa­peake Re­gion Vol­ley­ball sea­son at the Cap­i­tal Club­house in Wal­dorf on Nov. 12.

12-U, 13-U, 14-U tryouts will oc­cur from 8 to 10 a.m. (7:30 a.m. check-in), 15-U and 16-U tryouts will oc­cur from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (10:30 a.m. check-in) and 17-U and 18-U tryouts will oc­cur from 3 to 5 p.m. (2:30 p.m. check-in).

Wrestling

Thomas Stone Wrestling Club will hold two clin­ics at Thomas Stone High School.

A Wrestling 101 clinic (in­tro to folk­style wrestling) for chil­dren 8 to 15 will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. ev­ery Wed­nes­day Oct. 25 to Nov. 15.

A wrestling tech­nique clinic, which uses folk­style tech­niques for wrestlers with a min­i­mum of two years ex­pe­ri­ence, for chil­dren 8 to 17 will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. ev­ery Thurs­day Oct. 26 to Nov. 16.
