More than a half pound of methamphetamine and packaging materials were found in a Yuba County motel room when deputies conducted a probation search Monday night.

Lyle Cooper, 44, and Kayley Cullen, 31, both of Linda, were charged Wednesday in Yuba County Superior Court with felony possession of a controlled substance.

A sheriff’s deputy discovered 232 grams of methamphetamine and $575 in a room at the Motel 6 on North Beale Road, according to a declaration for probable cause of arrest signed by a deputy. The room was registered to Cooper, who is on probation.

Cooper appeared in court Wednesday and is in Yuba County Jail with no bail.

He was scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 3 in another case, in which he pleaded no contest to false impersonation and possession of a controlled substance, court records show.

He has several previous convictions dating back two decades for felony burglary, misdemeanor resisting arrest and receiving stolen property.
