Deputies discover body along river in Nicolaus

Sutter County sheriff's deputies found a body Monday afternoon in Nicolaus.

Undersheriff Jeff Pierce said deputies found the body around 4:30 p.m. on the Feather River embankment just north of Verona Village. The body does not appear to have been in the water, he said.

Pierce did not have any identifying information and said deputies are still investigating.
